If you’re ever in Cody, Wyo., just ask for Wild Bob. And tell him, and a lot of others in Cody, thanks for pitching in.
Cody businesses and local entities recently stepped in to take the place of federal dollars for Yellowstone National Park, which has had its funding cut in the sequestration. Snow plows hired by Cody businesses, bearing banners and flags with logos, rolled through Yellowstone to clear snow and prepare for tourist season.
The snowplowing is expected to last about a month. The city and county donated some money, as did the local chamber of commerce. Plow operators were given avalanche training before starting, as the terrain is more difficult than your average parking lot.
