We came into this year’s Best of Boulder season wondering if anything could top last year’s run — our biggest Best of Boulder edition — and our readers blew us away again. Our online survey, which allowed voting all through the month of March 2013, saw a record-breaking number of people logging on to weigh in with their thoughts about the best of the best in Boulder County.
Our winners — except when we’ve noted a staff pick — are all selected by those voters. Even the survey itself has been crafted in response to previous reader requests, comments and write-ins from past Best of Boulder voting records. We use staff picks, typically, to chat up niche categories our readers haven’t brought up yet, or to revisit some of the news from the past year in a cheeky reminder of the local characters and events that make Boulder County the only place we’d want to call home.
Not to get too warm and fuzzy, but we all know there are plenty of reasons to love living in this place — great restaurants to entice the foodiest of foodies; amazing beer and liquor selections and purveyors; stunning options for entertaining and educational days and nights on the town; a banquet of options for staying healthy; and shops that provide one-of-a-kind items as well as shopping experiences. We could gush — and gush we did, for more than 100 pages. Take it in, Boulder County. You made it happen. We couldn’t have done it without you. So enjoy the results of your voting and please accept our sincere thanks.
