He may have only been one half of alternative rap duo Das Racist, but Heems is a 100 percent bona fide rapper of his own regard. Touring in support of his debut solo album, Eat Pray Thug, Himanshu “Heems” Suri has made a name for himself in the hip-hop world with a style influenced in part by his Punjabi-Indian descent. Das Racist often erred on the side of humor, but setting out on his own Heems is showing that beneath the joke-rap there is an abundance of talent that’s nothing to laugh at.
