Chautauqua Film Series Chautauqua Auditorium June to August 900 Baseline Road, Boulder
The Colorado Chautauqua Association’s 30th annual Silent Film Series takes place in the Chautauqua Auditorium over the summer months. The historic Auditorium, which was built in 1898 and still maintains it original rustic, “barnlike” architecture, is an iconic setting to celebrate the origins of big picture movies, since its atmosphere evokes the feeling of being transported back in time. This year’s annual Chautauqua Silent Film series begins and ends with “talkies,” and offers a diverse range of films in between. Artists including the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra, pianist Hank Troy, guitarist Steve Mullins and the Silence Cinema Trio provide live musical accompaniment for silent films.
