A very strong shot
A Boulder County sheriff’s deputy with a stationary radar located at Highway 36 near Cherryvale Road at 2:20 a.m. on Jan. 16 reported seeing a car approach at a speed of 111 miles per hour.
According to the police report, the officer pulled the suspect over, and asked if he had been drinking, to which the 18-year-old suspect replied that he’d had “one shot.”
He voluntarily agreed to roadside tests, and performed unsatisfactorily, the officer said. He was arrested on charges of DUI as well as underage consumption of alcohol.
Wonder what he hit
A sheriff’s deputy noticed a dark Jeep Cherokee weaving on Dillon Road at 1:45 a.m. on Dec. 11.
According to the police report, the car’s front and side fenders were also dragging. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but was unsuccessful. After using both lights and sirens several times and following the car through several turns, the vehicle finally turned into a parking lot.
The officer approached the vehicle and had to ask the driver three times to turn off the car. The suspect finally did so and exited the vehicle. He approached the officers, who noticed he had a knife clipped to his belt, which he would not surrender, according to the report.
He got to the front of the police car parked behind his own and the officer drew his gun and pointed it at the man. At this point, police said, the man stopped approaching and officers were able to handcuff him and search him for any other weapons.
The officers ran an ID check and found that he had a revoked license for an unpaid ticket and a warrant for failure to appear on a DUI charge. He refused to submit to roadside testing or blood or breathalyzer tests. He was arrested on the warrant and on charges of DUI, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving while license is cancelled/denied.
Now he’s staying warm in jail
The HOPE Warming Center reportedly had a belligerent, intoxicated man who would not leave after being asked several times by staff.
When a sheriff’s deputy came in, he spouted a litany of curses at the officer, according to a police report. The officer asked him to leave, then had to forcibly remove him from the warming center. The man had a warrant for an open container violation in Longmont. He was arrested and booked into Boulder County Jail on a $165 bond.
