Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-California, has announced she will run again for the minority leader position in the House of Representatives, and it appears nobody will oppose her.
Pelosi, who’s led Democrats in the House since 2002, holds the title of highest-ranking woman in American political history from when she served as the Speaker of the House from 2006-2010.
Pelosi has been a divisive figure since taking the leadership role, and some conservatives celebrated her announcement as good for GOP fundraising. Advertisements in this election, in which the GOP did not make any gains, often paired Pelosi with Obama.
Democrats gained seven seats in the House in the 2012 election, leaving them 15 short of the Republican majority.
