It’s been over a week, but the Federal Bureau of Investigation still doesn’t have its story straight on the death of Ibragim Todashev, the friend of deceased Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
Todashev was shot to death by FBI agents during an interview in his home in Orlando, Fla. Agents claimed he became violent and aggressive, threatening or even attacking agents, forcing them to fire in self-defense.
But the details of the FBI story have changed several times. First, Todashev was holding a knife, or maybe a samurai sword. Then he attacked with a pole, or a broomstick, or both and a table.
As the FBI shifts its story, questions continue to arise about whether the shooting was done in self-defense and whether it was warranted.
