Lulz Security, a hacking group that stole data from law enforcement,
defaced the websites of major publications and published troves of user
names and passwords from online services, has suffered a critical blow
at the hands of law enforcement.
Agents across two continents arrested two of LulzSec‘s alleged top hackers on Tuesday morning, along with a member of the larger hacking collective Anonymous. Law enforcement also slapped new charges on two LulzSec members who were already behind bars, Fox News reports.
In a story that sounds like movie fodder, LulzSec’s informal leader
reportedly turned against his former hacking buddies, secretly helping
the FBI in the months leading up to the arrests.
