Boulder Beer makes Freshtracks
On Tuesday, Sept. 27, Boulder Beer Company released the limited edition, wet-hopped version of its classic Singletrack Copper Ale, called Freshtracks Wet-Hopped Copper Ale.
2011 marks the third season Boulder Beer Company has brewed Freshtracks with Colorado-grown hops. For this year’s Freshtracks, the Boulder Beer Company procured 450 pounds of Chinook hops from the Still Wind Hop Farm near Hotchkiss.
Freshtracks Wet-Hopped Copper Ale has a more robust fruitiness than Singletrack Copper Ale, with a very prominent citrus flavor. It’s a very bright beer with a pineapple-like aroma.
Freshtracks will be available in draft only in select areas of Colorado.
All kegs were presold this summer, brewed to order, and will be poured in bars and restaurants where specialty beers are served.
Odell revives seasonal beers
Odell Brewing celebrated the return of its Bourbon Barrel Stout on Sept. 24.
This year’s batch boasts new bourbon barrels — and an updated label that pays tribute to those barrels.
Bourbon Barrel Stout has notes of sweet milk chocolate, smooth vanilla and roasted coffee beans. Upon barrel aging, traces of oak and caramel come forward.
And on Oct. 1, Odell Brewing will celebrate the return of fall with its winter seasonal, Isolation Ale. Following the brewery’s summer release, St. Lupulin, Isolation Ale is a caramel malty ale balanced by a subtle crisp hop finish.
Odell Brewing will host an Isolation tapping party in the brewery’s tap room on Saturday, Oct. 1, as part of a weeklong celebration for the Great American Beer Festival. Local food truck favorites StrEats Mobile Bistro and the Cupcake Cruiser will be on site offering tasty bites to pair with the brew.
Both the stout and the ale are available October through December throughout the brewery’s 10-state distribution region.
