Friday, July 25: The Iguanas perform live at the Louisville Downtown Street Faire. 6-9 p.m. Front Street, Louisville.
To say that The Iguanas have diverse influences is putting it lightly. Over the last two decades, its members have played with everyone from Emmy Lou Harris to Pretty Lights, and the home base for its partially Spanish-language music is New Orleans, a city known for its French-speaking and jazz-playing population. But mash all those Chicano, rock, R&B and various Latin styles together and you get a seriously groovy sound, and one that will be on display in the Colorado streets this weekend when The Iguanas play at the Louisville Street Faire. In addition to The Iguanas, The Louisville Downtown Street Faire offers excellent food and drinks from a number of local sponsors as well as children’s activities, arts and crafts and a number of other sundries.
