With Saturday Night Live MVP Kristen Wiig’s contract on the show up next month and her feature career flourishing post-Bridesmaids, there has been a lot of speculation that she may leave the NBC sketch comedy show. Asked to address her SNL future by frequent SNL host/guest Alec Baldwin on his podcast, Wiig didn’t give a definitive answer.
“I don’t know,” she said when Baldwin suggested that “SNL is winding down for you now.” When Baldwin implied that SNL
bosses would do anything to keep her, Wiig replied, “Well, everyone has
to leave,” adding “I will say that when I do leave it’s not because I’m
sick of it and not because I see something better or anything like
that. It’s just that it’s time…”
