ESPN columnist and CU graduate Kate Fagan had a big secret when she played for the CU women’s basketball team: she was gay. In her first book, The Reappearing Act, Fagan tells all about her highly personal identity struggle as a gay basketball player on a team full of born-again Christians in the homophobic world of sports. Her memoir is a coming of age story and a “coming-out” story, which she will speak about and sign at the Boulder Book Store on May 8.
