After a long summer packed with adventure, it’s a little hard to believe autumn has finally settled into Boulder County. But it’s true, and we can prove it. Every fall Boulder Weekly publishes our Best of Boulder East County edition, and here it is. Hence, it’s fall. This year, as always, we’re proud to showcase the businesses our readers have dubbed the best of the best in East Boulder County.
Your votes give us insight into a wide range of businesses, from the best place to grab a bite to eat or a cocktail after work, to where to go to dance your cares away, get a good set of tires, buy your kid an instrument, find a snazzy new pair of glasses or even get inked up by some of the best tattoo artists in the county.
It’s clear that you, our readers, are an eclectic and educated bunch, and we love how you celebrate businesses old and new in your communities. Thousands of you voted to honor the many businesses that make this place special.
Each year we step back and see what our readers have to say, and that’s what’s so cool about Best of Boulder East County — it’s not the Boulder Weekly staff but our readers who decide who’s best. Your votes allow us to not only crown a business as the best of its kind in all of East County, but also to highlight the best businesses within a particular category in each community.
Here’s how we do it.
We take the top five vote getters in each category — the business with the most votes overall is named Best of East County. The business with the most votes from a particular community wins best of that town. If two or more of the top five vote getters were from the same town, then those with the second and third most votes in that town are listed as honorable mentions. So the top five businesses are listed, but not every town has a winner in every category. In instances wherein the business with the second most overall votes is from the same town as the overall winner, that business is given the title of Runner Up for East Boulder County.
We hope you enjoy our Best of Boulder East County edition, and we encourage you to use it to discover new places that just might become your favorites as well.
