Peruvian Fest (Festival Peruano)

Every year Longmont’s Peruvian community hosts a festival to celebrate Peruvian Independence Day (technically, July 28). Join them on July 17 at Sandstone Ranch for amazing Peruvian food, folk dancing, and live music.
Tour De Victory Cycling Challenge

The Tour de Victory Cycling Challenge is a non-competitive road cycling event benefiting the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s. Winding through the beautiful Boulder County countryside, cyclists of all abilities are invited to participate in a 100K, 50K, or fun ride 20k route. All distances are fully supported with stocked rest stops, on-route SAG vehicles, and medical support, followed by a finish line celebration at the Gunbarrel Brewing Company.
James Webb Space Telescope: First Images

The James Webb Space Telescope is the largest, most powerful and complex space telescope ever built and launched into space. Join in as NASA shares the telescope’s first images with the world. The telescope will study every phase in the history of our universe, ranging from the first luminous glows after the big bang, to the formation of solar systems capable of supporting life on planets like Earth, to the evolution of our own solar system.

Pearl Street Arts Fest

Artists will travel from all over Colorado, plus 19 other U.S. states and Canada, to exhibit and sell pieces to experienced collectors, as well as enthusiastic newcomers. Attendees will be able to peruse sculptures in metal, upcycled materials, handcrafted wood, furniture, paintings in acrylic, oil and watercolors, ceramics, jewelry, photography and glass in a variety of styles from abstract to Impressionistic, functional and decorative.

DV8 Distillery hosts techno-focused dance party to raise funds for displaced Ukrainian women and children
Like most adults, Olga Kozhar spends her days at work and carves out time for her hobbies when she can. Her work involves post-doctoral research in microbiology and genetics at Colorado State University, and her hobbies include making music and DJing.
But on Feb. 24, Kozhar’s life changed forever. Now she starts every day by checking in with her family in Ukraine and reading the latest updates from the frontlines. Russia’s invasion has upset the lives of millions of Ukrainians, including those abroad.
“It’s impossible to switch it off or take a break, because my people are there,” Kozhar says.
She first moved to the U.S. for a postgraduate degree in 2014, the year of the Ukrainian revolution and subsequent war along the border with Russia. She has been living in Fort Collins since 2020 and says Coloradans can support the war effort in Ukraine by donating to grassroots charities and fundraisers, like Dance for Ukraine.
Organized by Kozhar, Dance for Ukraine will take place at Boulder’s DV8 Distillery on Thursday, July 21. Hosting American and Ukrainian DJs, proceeds from the event will go to the MASHA Foundation, which aids displaced Ukrainian women and children. The techno-focused event will feature DJs Alex Ho Megas, Brandon Brown, and desvu back-to-back with lovw.
Going about life while her country is at war hasn’t been easy for Kozhar.
“When the war started, I wasn’t really able to work for a month. I was going to work and doing some things, but my mind was not there.”
While she worries about her parents’ safety every day, she respects their decision to stay in Ukraine: It’s their home and they don’t want to leave it behind. So she does what she can from Colorado.
