Twisted Pine Brewery is hosting a fundraiser for the Autism Society of Boulder County on Sunday, April 17, from noon to 6 p.m.
The brewery will be donating $1 for every pint sold and hosting a silent auction with donations like jewelry, beer products and gift certificates to local hot spots. In addition to the auction, from 2 to 4 p.m. Twisted Pine is hosting the Brewery Olympics, a competition consisting of events such as blind keg-tapping, a frozen T-shirt contest, a ridiculous relay race, beer trivia and, of course, a chug-off. Teams of two to six people will compete for Twisted Pine gear, gift certificates and bragging rights. Participants can sign up for the Olympics in advance or at the door; a $10 donation is requested for entry.
The event is part of a series of Twisted Pine fundraisers that will continue throughout the summer. Last month they generated $3,400 for the Kiwanis Club, which provides service dogs to children with allergies and special needs.
The Autism Society’s mission is to raise autism awareness in Boulder and Broomfield counties by supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), their families and professionals. They provide information on topics related to autism, educational support, autism research and legislation.
