The Boulder County Sheriff’s Cadet Program and Convergence
Solutions Inc. will host its haunted house again this month.
Last year’s “Prison of Terror” accumulated around $14,000 and
880 pounds of canned food. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Sheriff’s
Office Cadet program, which offers young men and women the opportunity to
experience the law enforcement profession, and ReStore, a group dedicated to
providing affordable housing to low-income families in the St. Vrain Valley.
The Prison of Terror will be built and staffed by local
volunteers from the Sheriff’s Office, Convergence Solutions Inc. and members of
the community. Visitors to the house are encouraged to bring canned food items
for a discounted ticket price. The canned food will be given to Community Food
Share of Longmont.
From 5 to 6 p.m., young children can enjoy the haunted house
with the lights on, and the cost will be $5. After 6 p.m., the haunted house
will be in its full scare-inducing mode for a cost of $15.
The Prison of Terror will be held Oct. 7-8, 14-15, 21-22 and
28-31, at the Twin Peaks Mall, 1250 S. Hover Road, in Longmont.
If you want to volunteer, and are aged 18 or older, attend
the final orientation session at the Twin Peaks Mall on Oct. 5 at 5 and 6 p.m.
