The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help with
information regarding a case of possible enticement of a child that occurred
this week.
At approximately 5:55 p.m. on June 25, Boulder County sheriff’s
deputies were called to the 1900 block of Caribou Road just outside of
Nederland, according to a news release. Two 11-year-old girls were playing
below the switchback on Caribou Road when a couple in a car, a male driver and
a female passenger, approached them.
The male driver reportedly spoke to the girls as if he knew
them, asking them to come and play at his house more often, while the female
passenger stared straight ahead and did not say anything. The girls, who said
they did not know the couple, backed away from the car and into the woods,
according to the release.
According to reports, the car may be a white Hyundai
hatchback with Colorado license plates and a green tarp in the back seat. The
driver is described as being a white male, 200 pounds, with rectangular glasses
and brown hair. The female passenger is described as being white, between 200
and 220 pounds, with thin brown hair pulled into a ponytail and wearing dark
glasses.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Boulder
County Sheriff’s Office at 303-441-4444.
