Democracy Now co-founder Goodman speaks Friday

Amy Goodman, host and co-founder of Democracy Now! will speak at the University of Colorado Boulder on Friday.

Her speech, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Math 100 lecture hall on campus, will discuss how various forms of independent media have spurred positive social change, and tell stories of her own journalistic experiences.

She’ll also sign copies of her latest book, Breaking the Sound Barrier, and participate in a question-and-answer session.

Goodman has published four books, earning numerous awards, and is known for defending social justice and freedom of the press professionally and personally.

Tickets are free for CU-Boulder students, and $5 for community members. They can be picked up at The Connection in the University Memorial Center. CU’s chapter of Amnesty International is hosting the event.
