November is the great food month, so it only makes sense that the Trojan Movie House and Art Cinema is screening the great food movie: Babette’s Feast. Released in 1987, this sweet and touching Danish film centers on a religious community who welcomes the refugee Babette — a former French chef — into their small and austere village. Babette learns their ways and their habits and grows to love them. And when she comes into a large sum of money, Babette repays their kindness with a feast unlike any other. The story is heart-warming, the acting is impeccable, and the photography is so sumptuous, you can practically taste Babette’s titular meal. Don’t go in on an empty stomach.
