Boulder independent community radio station KGNU (88.5 FM and 1390
AM) has announced that it will broadcast live from the sold-out RockyGrass
Festival in Lyons this weekend.
The festival runs from Friday, July 29, to Sunday, July 31,
and will feature performances from Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers,
Hot Rize, the Sam Bush Bluegrass Band, and the Del McCoury Band, among others.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Planet Bluegrass again to
let people get an earful of this amazing festival,” said John Schaefer, KGNU’s music director. “The response from the artists is tremendous, and we’re very
excited that we’ll be able to offer highlights of the evening sets from Steve
Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers, David Grisman and Peter Rowan — just to
name a few — along with the exceptional picking that will be going on live from
the stage Saturday and Sunday morning.”
The station will broadcast recordings from the Friday and
Saturday evening performances as well as live feeds from the afternoon
performances on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more
information, check out the station’s website at http://www.kgnu.org.
