After four months of renovation work, Scott Carpenter Pool
will re-open its doors to the public during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on
Friday, May 27.
Structural improvements made to the pool include re-pouring
most of the side walls, improving ADA accessibility, re-finishing the water slide,
and installing a new energy-efficient pool boiler.
Mayor Susan Osborne and Recreation Superintendent Alice
Guthrie will attend the ribbon-cutting at noon at the pool at 1505 30th St.,
south of Arapahoe Avenue. Afterwards, there will be free open swim from 1 p.m.
to 5 p.m. and a free ice cream social from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. featuring Bliss
Organic Ice Cream.
