Police arrested two 21-year-old University of Colorado students, Quinton Elgin Dodson and Aaron Jaron Whitaker, on suspicion of burglary and assault charges stemming from an incident on April 8.

According to police, on that date, a 21-year old man interrupted two burglars as they tried to steal a high-end bicycle, electronics and other items from his 11th Street residence at around 1:30 a.m. The man confronted the two suspects as they began to walk out with his bike, and a fight ensued.

The victim reportedly told police that the suspects assaulted him and then ran away. The victim then flagged down a Boulder police officer who was patrolling the area.

Police say the victim gave them detailed descriptions of the suspects, and other officers located and detained two suspects nearby. The victim positively identified the two suspects as the men who had assaulted him in his home, according to a police report. Several of the items that were missing from the victim’s home were in the suspects’ possession at the time, police said.

The victim suffered a number of scrapes to his arms and had cuts on his face and head. He sought medical treatment the next day.
