Longmont police are seeking the public’s help in finding a suspect who robbed the Academy Bank inside the Super Walmart on the north side of the city Friday morning.
According to media reports, the suspect approached a bank employee who was opening the bank shortly after 9 a.m., threatened him with a knife, forced him into an office, duct-taped him and escaped with an unknown amount of cash.
Police have released an image of the suspect taken from security video. They describe the suspect as an Asian or Hispanic male with chubby cheeks.
According to Jeff Satur of the Longmont Police, he was wearing a dark-colored, thigh-length Army jacket with a fur-collared hood. He is approximately 5′ 6″ to 5′ 8″ and appears to be heavy-set. The suspect was wearing black pants and white tennis shoes and was armed with a Bowie knife. Â
